Art exhibition recognizes diversity, inclusion
In celebration of Black History Month, the Cultural Arts
Council Douglasville/Douglas County in downtown
Douglasville is hosting the Notes of Inclusion exhibit through
Feb. 24.
" Four outstanding artists from varied backgrounds and
cultures have come together to celebrate diversity and equality
through their work in honor of Black History Month, " says
Emily Lightner, executive director of the Cultural Arts Center.
" They've chosen bold colors and patterns to create a visual
song that resonates with the message of diversity and equality. "
James Killings Jr., V. Kottavei Williams, Courtney Brooks
and Lawrence Sullivan used an array of techniques to create
their art.
" From paintings to quilts, their works are inspiring and
meaningful for our times, " she says. " We are honored to have
these dynamic artists share their creativity in such a
powerful way. "
