Georgia peanuts

F
or many people, the state of Georgia and peanuts are nearly
synonymous. Peanuts are the state's official crop and a versatile treat.
Whether eaten whole as a quick snack, crushed into creamy peanut
butter or mixed into decadent peanut brittle, Georgia peanuts are enjoyed
around the world every day.
Peanuts are a $2 billion industry in Georgia, providing jobs to
thousands of people in our state. Thanks to their hard work, peanuts from
Georgia are harvested, processed and shipped hundreds or thousands of
miles before ending up in products and on store shelves.
Here are a few interesting facts about the legendary legume:

campaign. Carter owned a peanut farm in his
