Giddyup to the rodeo
Looking for something to do this Memorial Day weekend?
Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee has you covered.
Enjoy the third annual Hiawassee Pro Rodeo May 27-29,
complete with eight events, including barrel racing, bull riding,
bronco riding and steer wrestling.
" We provide good, clean fun for all ages, " says Robin
Brooks, co-owner of family-owned Southern Rodeo Co. " There
are food trucks, things to do for the kids, souvenirs and shops
all around the fairgrounds. "
The event has been expanded this year, with more
contestants and prize money.
" We have had to increase [the scope of the event] every
year since we've had it, " says Hilda Thomason, general manager
of Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. " People love rodeos. "
