" We have parents coming back now that have
kids graduating high school or are out of high school
who say they've been coming since they were little, "
she says. " It's a place to create memories. "

Founded in 2016, Frozen Cow Creamery in
Kennesaw has been voted Best Ice Cream in Cobb
County twice and earned second place three times
in the Cobb Life Magazine/Marietta Daily Journal
Best of Cobb annual contest. Frozen Cow prides
itself on its flash-chilled, handmade ice cream.
" We are a very different ice cream parlor, " says
Ted Melko, who co-owns Frozen Cow with his wife,
Angel, and their daughter, Cassandra DeLuca. " We
make every ice cream on the spot for each order.
We start with a fresh-milk-, cream- and sugar-based
liquid. We add flavors and ingredients that the
customer [requests] and then shoot it with liquid
nitrogen and mix it in a bowl.
" It's very full, very rich [and] very creamy
because we freeze it so quickly that it doesn't
crystallize like traditional ice cream. "
New on the menu is an alcohol-infused ice
cream for adults.
" It's delicious because we can freeze colder
than the traditional freezer. So we put a full amount
of alcohol in each ice cream. It's just like getting a
drink, " he says.

" Everything we do is made from scratch; that includes the cookies,
the toppings, the fudges, the caramel, " says Stratton Leopold, owner of
Leopold's Ice Cream in Savannah. " It's super-premium ice cream. We
make every batch the old-fashioned way. Most ice cream companies use
something called a continuous freezer. Ours churns. It just keeps churning
until it's ready. "
Opened in 1919 as a fruit and grocery stand with ice cream service,
Leopold's today serves its ice cream using the original recipes and
techniques handed down
to Leopold by his father.
Also on the menu are
pastries, sandwiches, soups
and salads-all made fresh
daily.
The key to Leopold's
success, he says, is " never
compromising quality service
and service to the community.
" We do a lot of outreach.
It brings a smile to your face.
It's just something I think we
should do and do do. We do
a lot with military and first
responders. We do a lot with
schools, churches and
synagogues.
