High-throughput workflows allow an operator to assess stability formulation more efficiently than a manual process, and provide the
information for a scientist to reach the same stability ranking. In this
study, automation was used to prepare and stress formulations in
both a final container/closure system and 96-well microplates.
Testing formulation robustness in 96-well plates has tremendous
advantages by reducing material consumption, while also increasing the number of formulations that can be screened in parallel.
The SEC results from heat stressing demonstrated comparability
to final container/closures and traditional results.
Fully integrated automation, including both hardware and data
integration for formulation studies, can increase lab productivity
and efficiency. Automation eliminated manual, tedious steps such as
formulation preparation, sample stressing and sample preparation
for SEC and DLS, and simplified data analysis and compilation.
