Kyle's Kitchen
Jay Ferro, owner of the Kyle's Kitchen in Goleta and Santa
Barbara and Silvergreens in Isla Vista, was immediately
impacted during initial closures of indoor dining. Ferro's
restaurants were among hundreds in Santa Barbara County
fighting for their economic lives. Ferro's longtime friend,
developer Ed St. George, agreed to help out the restaurant by
buying $250 worth of food daily for his employees and tenants. St. George and Ferro hope that other companies that
have not been hit as hard by the coronavirus pandemic will
find a restaurant in the community to support.

Old Town Coffee

SB Gift Baskets
As conferences and business travel came to a standstill, local
business owner Anne Pazier was quick to pivot her offerings
to make sure businesses didn't forget about the importance
of gifting for their clients and employees. Santa Barbara
Gift Baskets offered a new array of gift boxes including the
" Virtual Happy Hour " and special gift boxes for virtual conferences and events. Santa Barbara Gift Baskets specializes
in putting together gifts with local products so each box sold
helps support other local businesses.
Pictured above is a Virtual Happy Hour box including local
favorites such as M.Special Beer, Santa Barbara Popcorn
and more.

Local favorite Old Town Coffee, is typically bustling with people working, studying or catching
up with friends. When food businesses were forced
into takeout only, owners Tim and  Rachel  found
themselves with a lot of open space. After moving
tables and chairs out of the space and creating socially distanced
lines, the pair realized they could be a store front for businesses
who couldn't be open. Their coffee shop quickly became a hub to find local games from
downtown's Game Seeker and handmade masks from local vendors. Game Seeker was closed
for several weeks due to indoor retail operations being shut down, but they were able to sell
puzzles and games through their partnership with Old Town Coffee. Although business is
slow, Old Town Coffee continues with their plans to grow. They recently purchased their own
roasting machine and have started roasting their own coffee beans.
" Stacy from Goleta Coffee Co and Brolin from Santa Barbara Roasting Co come here frequently and we talk shop.  We help each other, it's a tight community. And I'd like to give a
special shout out to David Dart of Dart Coffee in the Funk Zone. He has a real passion for coffee and has spent many hours teaching Tim how to roast. We don't pay him. He is genuinely
happy for us and he helps because he is a good person. " - Rachel Ward
