it? The Gaviota Wind Caves are that kind of discovery. These
unique sandstone formations are located a short 2.5-mile outand-back hike, just one mile from the Pacific Ocean as the crow
flies, making for some truly remarkable photos and memories.
Wander through the arched rocks. Scramble around
the caves, which have been carved out by millions of
years of blowing winds. The arches provide the perfect
frame for views and photos of the Pacific just beyond
them; or turn around and enjoy the views back up into
the Santa Ynez Mountains. Tip: Free parking is available
passed the Gaviota Campgrounds near the trailhead.
