Rob adapted the plans to the size of the wood and spent the better part of three weeks fabricating 22 kits in his garage. He also created a PowerPoint presentation designed to dispel myths about bats that cause people to fear them. On the day of the meeting the troop leaders set up tables in the local school cafeteria, provided a projector screen for Rob’s presentation, and brought waterbased paints. The girls (who brought their own hammers) assembled and painted the bat houses in about one messy, joyously colorful hour.
