2019 - A new year and another
chance for us to get it right

e all have problems and challenges, that's for
sure. Some of us face far greater challenges than
others, but the greatest threat that we all face is
climate change.
According to The Nature Conservancy, climate
change is one of the most urgent issues facing our
planet today. Based on the most recent reports from the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, we must
undertake significant additional actions quickly in order
to have a chance at averting the worst impacts of climate
change to our communities, our economy and to the natural systems on which all life depends.
Please check out the Ted Ed video on this page for a
quick and easy tutorial on climate change. It helped us to
understand the hows and whys of climate change and the
danger it poses to to life on earth. As we know, understanding something is the first step to solving the problem, right?
We're starting the new year out with our favorite astrophysicist, Neil deGrasse Tyson. Even though he's not yet
a grandparent we believe he's a GRANDguy for inspiring
us to think about science and our planet with humor and
easy-to-understand information. His life story inspired us
and we hope it'll do the same for you.

The science of climate change is pretty complicated so it's no
wonder many of us don't really understand what's happening or how
to educate our grandkids. Project Learning Tree helps develop students' awareness, knowledge, and appreciation of the environment,
