McElroy

McElroy's Spider 125
Series 2 socket fusion
tool introduces an
all-new, serrated jaw
design that keeps
polypropylene pipe
perfectly round and
improves force distribution to produce
leak-free joints for
top-performing
plumbing and mechanical systems.
This upgraded tool
features a removable fitting stop for crossover compatibility with HDPE pipe,
and a removable support system to hold fittings firmly in place for proper
alignment.
The Spider 125 Series 2 comes with a stronger gearbox and self-locking
drive handle for smooth movement of the jaws and consistent fusion pressure
for joint integrity. It's built to withstand more job-site abuse, with tougher
handles and knobs; and a new D-ring that allows the tool to be easily lifted
and lowered from high spots, limiting damage from accidental drops.
McElroy introduced the Spider 125 for 2- to 4-inch pipe to the polypropylene fusion market in 2012, after working with pipe installers to understand
their processes and challenges. The Spider is easy to use, lightweight and
compact, and requires only one operator, making it ideal for performing
socket fusions overhead, vertically, and in other tight indoor spaces from the
floor to the ceiling and every space in between.
While the original model radically improved socket fusions in the indoor
marketplace, the company has continued to work with industry and channel
partners to evolve and improve it. The Spider 125 Series 2 maintains the universal clamping jaw system, which fits all pipe brands and fittings, and does
not require inserts. It can be adjusted without tools for user-friendly setup.
A Series 2 retrofit kit to update the prior Spider 125 model will be available in
early 2018.
McElroy is the leading manufacturer and innovator of pipe fusion equipment for polypropylene and polyethylene pipe.

McLaughlin

McLaughlin introduced two new mid-range vacuum excavators - the ECO75
truck-mounted vacuum excavator and VX75 trailer-mounted version - now
available through the Vermeer global dealer network.
A 74-horsepower Deutz Final Tier 4 diesel engine powers a 1,200-CFM
vacuum blower and 8.0 gpm water pump capable of 3,000 psi operating
pressure. This makes the excavators an ideal choice for compact job sites,
production potholing, and setting power poles or fluid management in

directional drilling operations. The vacuum excavators also feature a larger,
5-inch boom that pulls more material and reduces clogging to enhance jobsite production.
The ECO75-800 can be mounted on a single-axle,16-foot truck bed with
a GVW rating of 33,000 pounds, keeping vacuum operations compact and
maneuverable. Contractors can mount the ECO75-500 on a single-axle,
26,000- GVW truck without the need for a commercial driver's license. The
truck-mounted option also gives contractors the flexibility to tow additional
equipment to job sites. For those who prefer a trailer-mounted vacuum
excavator, the VX75 features a twin-axle, heavy-duty I-Beam construction that
is compact in size and can be pulled by a 1-ton truck.
Additional versatility allows the option of adding a sewer jetter or air compressor to the ECO75 and VX75.
Both models include two features McLaughlin customers rely on. One is
an industry-exclusive, three-stage cyclonic filtration system that allows for
both wet and dry vacuum excavation, while prolonging filter life and helping
to keep maintenance costs low. The other is the patented cam-over hydraulic
rear door. It provides a 360-degree positive seal, even under reverse pressure,
without additional clamping requirements, to keep fluids securely in the
debris tank. No components are inside the tank, so maintenance is external.

Melfred Borzall

Melfred Borzall's new
Black Diamond directional
blade cuts through the
competition. Not only does
it increase drilling efficiency inhard-ground conditions, but it also
addresses everyday production-draining
issues such as blade drag, carbide wear and
pullback efficiency.
This new blade design is tougher and
smarter. It features a single, front-end domed
carbide for blunt force that extends the
blade's overall life, new diamond-shaped
carbides on the front sides that aggressively
tear through hard ground conditions, and
low-profile diamond carbides near the rear to
minimize drag.
The continuous perimeter of carbides
give the blade a mean look with a lethal bite,
while seamlessly reinforced with chunky
carbide hard-facing the entire length of the blade. It's compatible with most
OEM drill rigs.
Another innovation, the new Super Eagle Claw, updates HDD's most-popular rock tool. Although the standard Eagle Claw has become the universal
favorite of drillers in most ground conditions, the original design was geared
towards tackling hard, rocky soil. The new Super Eagle Claw ramps up that
ability to a new level.
Incorporating additional cutter block in strategic, high-wear areas of the
bit provides an extra layer of cutting power, sustained durability for a longer
life, and additional power on pullback. Added protection is Melfred Borzall's
famous chunky hard-facing to the three main cutter teeth.
Availability in several sizes makes the Super Eagle Claw a versatile bit. More
versatility comes from integrating it into the patented FastBack system via
the Eagle Eye tool, which allows for direct pullback without removing the bit.
There's no need for heavy wrenches or large pits; simply seat the Eagle Eye
onto the Super Eagle Claw, attach cutter blocks with two bolts and you're
ready to start the pullback.
