Energy Web Atlas-NGI Partnership Leverages
Real-Time, Global LNG Project Data
Under a new partnership with Gulf Energy Information's (GEI) Energy Web Atlas (EWA),
Stanford University's Natural Gas Initiative (NGI) research will be supplemented with EWA, a
comprehensive source of actionable project intelligence for the energy industry. The partnership also facilitates distribution of NGI research findings through EWA and its associated GEI
publications, including Gas Processing and Hydrocarbon Processing.
"We are thrilled to work with such a premier research institution within the natural gas
industry and have the ability to collaborate with industry leaders and members," said Scott
Allgood, Director of Data Services, Gulf Energy Information.
EWA (energywebatlas.com), an ESRI-based GIS platform, allows users to examine and
interact with real-time natural gas project data. It tracks, and incorporates wide-ranging information on, more than 500 LNG facilities/projects and more than 3,670 natural gas pipelines
(existing, planned and under construction) around the world. It also integrates detailed data
on natural gas infrastructure in the United States.
Headquartered in Houston, Gulf Energy Information produces seven trade journals
(Underground Construction, Pipeline & Gas Journal, Pipeline News, World Oil, Hydrocarbon
Processing, Gas Processing and Petroleum Economist), related websites and events, and data
products like the new EWA.
"Gulf Energy Information will bring a wealth of industry information and experience to our
work through the Energy Web Atlas and its participation in Natural Gas Initiative programs and
events," said Bradley Ritts, NGI managing director. "Importantly, this relationship also provides
additional pathways to ensure that the new knowledge being created at Stanford is communicated to interested stakeholders around the world."
NGI is a collaboration of more than 40 research groups at Stanford University - representing engineering, science, policy, geopolitical and business disciplines - and industry partners
and other external stakeholders focused on generating the knowledge needed to maximize
the social, economic and environmental benefit of natural gas.

The National
Association of Sewer
Service Companies
(NASSCO) has
appointed Sheila Joy
as its new executive
director. In this role,
she leads NASSCO
in its ongoing mission to set standards
for the assessment, maintenance and
rehabilitation of underground infrastructure,
and to assure the continued acceptance
and growth of trenchless technologies.
She will also help take the association
to the next level, according to Pete Kurz,
NASSCO's past president.
"NASSCO's strategic plan now includes
a higher level of volunteerism, particularly
as it pertains to committee productivity and
deliverables," he explained. "It also identifies
building greater awareness of NASSCO and,
most importantly, developing programs that
directly benefit our members."
Joy is well-qualified to achieve these
goals, Kurz stressed. "She has solid
experience in managing a small business,
efficiently leading nonprofit organizations,
and successfully running her own marketing communications firm since 1999."
She also has strong knowledge of the
industry, with clients of her firm representing all aspects of trenchless technology:
CIPP equipment and liner manufacturers,
chemical root control, grouting and pipe
bursting suppliers and various contractors.
In addition, she has more than 10
years of experience working directly with
NASSCO, developing technical content on
wide-ranging topics and building valuable
alliances.
"Sheila's unique blend of effectively managing a small business with sound, fiscal
responsibility and thoroughly understanding the needs of our industry make her a
perfect fit," said Tim Vivian, current NASSCO
president.
