Polygon Oﬀers All-in-One Tool
McElroy, Tulsa, Okla., manufacturer and innovator of thermoplastic
pipe fusion equipment, introduced the new Polygon, a versatile tool
uniquely built for the needs of the mechanical, plumbing and HVAC
piping industry.
As the industry's first manual machine for miter, butt and socket
fusion to offer DataLogger capability, Polygon allows contractors to
meet the growing requirement for better traceability and assurance
that joints are fused according to standard. It can produce miter and
butt fusion joints for 63-mm-to-160-mm polypropylene pipe, from
0-to-45-degree angles; and offers additional socket fusion capability for 63-mm-to-125-mm polypropylene pipe and fittings.
The tool is equipped with quick-clamp, pivoting, jaws for easier
setup and pivoting pipe supports to keep pipe level in the jaws.
These features provide a wider variety of mitering options than any
other machine of its kind. It is the perfect tool to use in close-quarter mechanical rooms in new construction, as well as older structures on pipe replacement projects.
"Our solution was to provide a manual machine with an
adjustable, streamlined design that adapts to challenging indoor
environments," said Paul Donaldson, manager of product development. "Contractors now have the option of making miter fusions
onsite with a single machine, which saves time and costs associated
with molded or pre-fabricated fittings."
In response to contractor preference, McElroy incorporated a
cordless feature for the facer, which is powered by a battery-operated drill included in the package. Power is only required for the
heater, keeping electrical needs minimal.
The Polygon's compact design makes it great for tie-in fusions
where space is limited. The pressure gauge is positioned for efficient viewing and a side-positioned wheel drive allows the operator
to smoothly move the carriage. The machine's stable base makes it
ideal for prefabrication and benchtop use at a comfortable height.
It's also the only miter/butt fusion unit capable of socket fusion
by swapping out the jaws with an optional Spider 125 Series 2
Adapter Kit.

Doosan Portable Power has
expanded its product line of
portable light towers with
the addition of the LCV6 and
LCV8 models.
Both models feature a smallbody design and vertical
mast that allow for greater
maneuverability, ease of
transport and low operating
cost. A new clamshell-style
canopy is made of highly durable composite material, yet is lightweight for easy access to internal
components for regular maintenance.
Both LCV light towers are standard-equipped with a vertical mast
that manually extends to 23 feet. This design significantly cuts setup
time compared to the traditional laydown mast, and the upright mast
position improves transport safety.
With a new compact footprint - 82 inches long and 55 inches wide
with a travel position height of 101 inches -17 units can fit on a standard
flatbed trailer for more cost-effective transportation.
Both LCV models have a 52-gallon diesel fuel tank with the longest
runtime in the industry. The LCV6 and LCV8 have minimum runtimes
of 119 hours and 97 hours respectively with four 1,050-watt metal halide lamps. For double the runtimes, the LCV models can be equipped
with high-efficiency LED lighting.
The LCV6 is powered by a Tier 4 Final-compliant Kubota D1005
diesel engine with a Mecc Alte 6 kW alternator. The LCV8 is equipped
with a Tier 4 Final Kubota D1105 engine and Mecc Alte 8 kW alternator.

Application is designed
to maximize customers' experience with
their investment. Fully
integrated with ALLU's
online portal, the mobile
app provides an intelligent digital solution for getting accurate and
timely information regarding safe operation at job sites and use of
ALLU equipment.
By providing the serial number associated with a customer's new
ALLU Transformers and Processors, the app will retrieve relevant
data to the specific equipment, such as a description of the product
- including frame and drums -and the matching base machine. The
app notes specific applications for the model, and provides access to
pictures and videos, as well as operational, installation, troubleshooting
and safety guides. The app also provides contact information for local
dealers and ALLU offices, and social media links to keep customers
apprised of the latest ALLU news.
