New Compact Wheel Loaders
Deliver Improved Performance,
Advanced Features and Options

Building on the success of its range, Caterpillar has
added three new models to its M Series Compact
Wheel Loader lineup: 910, 914 and 920.
All three models feature a new engine, C3.6,
specifically designed for Cat products. Caterpillar
estimates up to 5 percent gains in fuel-efficiency
with the new engine, and the C3.6 meets EU Stage
V and U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards.
With the same torque performance as the
previous Cat 4.4, the new engine provides a modest
increase in rated gross power: 101 to 111 horsepower for the 910 and 914, and from 117 to 122
horsepower for the 920. Fuel-tank capacity also
is increased, by 2.9 gallons (11 liters), for the new
loaders, allowing extended work cycles.
A new reversing-fan option can assist in keeping
cooling cores clean for more efficient temperature control, a benefit in operating environments
where airborne debris can be pulled into cooling
cores and restrict airflow, possibly resulting in
overheating. The reversing fan has a three-position
rocker switch in the cab, allowing the system to be
turned off, to operate in an automatic mode, or be
momentarily activated by the operator.
Also new for the 910 and 914 is an available
rotary-sensor-kickout system with both fork and
bucket settings. These settings, along with cylinder
snubbing, are features now included in the kickout
system for the 920.
Controlled by four buttons in the cab, the new
system can be adjusted to accommodate the kickouts required by two different work tools. Once the
position of the attachment is moved to the desired
location, a two-second press of the appropriate
button programs that function, which is recalled by
using detents in the joystick.
All functions can easily be used together after
setting the tool to the desired recall locations.
Correct use of the kickouts has been shown to save
up to 20% of the cutting-edge life of a bucket.
The 914 can now be equipped with the Cater-

pillar Fusion Coupler System to provide enhanced
durability and attachment compatibility. It features
an advanced wedging mechanism to create a tight,
rattle-free fit, eliminating coupler-to-attachment
movement and subsequent wear.
New auxiliary lines are available (from mid-lift
arm down to the coupler) for all the new loader
models when the three- or four-valve option is
selected. This feature allows ease of use for more
work tools within the Caterpillar portfolio.

TT Technologies Introduces
Upgraded Grundopit,
New Pipeliner Package

During the ramming process, the rammer is attached to the rear of the casing. The tool then drives
the pipe through the ground with repeated percussive blows. It can install steel pipes and casings from
24 to 56 inches in diameter. It is also used for the
slick-bore process of installing a bore pipe, which,
when removed, pulls the product pipe into place.
Ramming provides accurate installation of
casing in wide-ranging soil, without surface slump,
making it ideal for installations under railways and
roads. Other applications include HDD assist and
rescue, such as salvaging product pipe after a failed
bore, installing conductor barrel casings, removing
stuck drill stems, and assisting drills during product
pullback to prevent hydrolock.

Numa Launches HDD 80
to Product Line

TT Technologies' redesigned Grundopit pitlaunched mini directional drill is well-suited for
difficult fiber-to-the-home and utility service line
installations in tight working conditions. It's an ideal
entry-level system for utilities, cable industries or as
a supplement to larger units.
The compact unit - 54 inches long, 43 inches
wide and 57 inches tall - delivers 13,489 pounds
of thrust and pull back, and 553 foot/pounds of
torque, with bore length up to 150 feet.
The new unit features a patented instant plug-in
lock that holds the drill stem in place and allows
new drill stems to be added easily by engaging the
new drill stem at the rotational motor. This means
that drill stems are only screwed into the lead stem
and not the rotational motor, cutting the time it
takes to add a stem in half.
Components include a two-part bore rig, patented drill stem plug in, 30 drill stems, bore head with
angled steering surface, back reamer and swivel
coupling, hose package, and power pack.
TT Technologies also now offers a pipe rammer
and bentonite system package for oil and gas pipeline installation projects. It features an 18-inch-diameter Grundoram Goliath pneumatic pipe
ramming system and a Grundomudd 500 bentonite
mixing/delivery system.

Numa, one of the world's leading drilling technology providers, added the HDD 80 to its product line.
Consisting of a variety of HDD components,
including hammer, bits, side load sonde housing,
bent subs, and adaptors, HDD 80 is capable of
drilling holes 9¾ to 10 inches (248 to 254 mm)
in diameter. Among its benefits are improved
steerability, fast penetration rate, simplified field
maintenance, reduced air requirements, and lower
overall cost per foot.
Numa purposely designed their HDD hammers
to drill longer in difficult rock conditions. Furthermore, a single bore design allows for a maximum
bore diameter in conjunction with providing
optimum life against abrasion.
The full line of Numa's HDD Drilling Systems:
* HDD 35 for drilling holes 37⁄8 to 4 inches
(98 mm to 102 mm) in diameter
* HDD 40 for drilling holes 4¾ to 5 inches
(121 mm to 127 mm) in diameter
* HDD 50 for drilling holes 5¾ to 61⁄8 inches
(146 mm to 156 mm) in diameter
* HDD 60 for drilling holes 7 to 7½ inches
(178 mm to 191 mm) in diameter
