John Deere Announces
New 200G Excavator

John Deere has introduced the new 200G model
to its excavator lineup.
Designed to decrease the amount of fuel burn,
without sacrificing power or productivity, the 200G
enables operators to quickly complete tough jobs,
while also lowering overall operation costs.
Combined with John Deere's broad bucket
portfolio, coupler options and attachments, and accelerated swing speed, the 200G machine is ideal
for many applications, including site development,
roadbuilding, earthmoving and irrigation work.
With a 145-horsepower (108 kW) Final Tier 4
John Deere PowerTech PSS 4.5-liter engine, one
of 200G's most notable features is the low fuel
burn: 11-percent less than the 210G. And it does this
without sacrificing power or productivity.
Adjustable power modes can be set by the
operator based on the job, engaging the machine
to automatically change engine rpm and hydraulic
pump calibration. With fuel savings in mind, the
ECO setting allows the machine to automatically

adjust to arrive at the best balance of fuel consumption and productivity.
"Many of our customers are balancing tight
budgets with the need for maximum power and
productivity on the job," said Jonny Spendlove,
excavator product marketing manager, John Deere
Construction & Forestry. "With the new 200G
excavator, we are giving our customers the best of
both worlds. This machine is built with fuel saving
at the forefront of its design, while also incorporating several productivity-boosting features to help
operators efficiently complete jobs."
The 200G boasts a faster swing speed due to
efficiencies with the hydraulic system. As a result,
productivity is increased in applications that require
swing movements, such as truck loading and
trenching operations. Additionally, this machine is
compatible with a broad portfolio of bucket options
- from 0.55 to 1.43 cubic yards - enabling it to
meet the demands of several different applications.
A hydraulic coupler option, for changing quickly
between attachments, means even more versatility.
Focusing on increased uptime, the John
Deere-exclusive double-sealed swing bearing
system has enhanced internal grease retention, improving the machine's overall reliability. This helps
to reduce the risk of contamination by materials like
dust and water. Additionally, reinforced arm-tobucket joints maximize front-joint durability and
reduce maintenance intervals for axial clearance
adjustment. The tungsten carbide-coated ear
flanges provide high-wear resistance and long
service life, while steel bushings with grease groove
channels increase resistance to abrasion and
reduce pin wear.

Gardner Denver Enters
HDD Market with New Pump

Gardner Denver (GD) High Pressure Solutions (HPS),
the global provider of high-pressure pumps, parts
and services, launched its new 250HDD to serve as a
durable, reliable, American-made pump for a range
of horizontal directional drilling (HDD) applications.

HDD pumps - also known as drill pumps, mud
pumps, and high-flow pumps - serve as an integral
component to operations and provide an essential
service to the HDD industry. The 250HDD pump
expands Gardner Denver's offerings into the wider
HDD space for the first time.
Built with quality and efficiency in mind, the
pump can be used to tunnel under rivers and roads
and to help lay sewerage systems, water pipes, fiber
optic lines and pipelines. It features a very high rod
load rating of 50,000 pounds, making it extremely
tough and long lasting.
Designed to run at much slower speeds, it also
matches or exceeds the performance of existing
pumps. For example, GD 250HDD can produce
300 gallons per minute at 1,400 pounds per square
inch, while operating under 200 revolutions per
minute. At this slow run speed, the pump can
deliver the same output, flow, and pressure with
less violent actions, wear and friction. By delivering
fewer strokes, consumable life is extended.
"The weight to horsepower ratio of the GD
250HDD surpasses all other industry competitors,"
said Ryan Huseman, lead engineer. "The GD 250
HDD packs a huge amount of power in a very
small dimensional envelope, which makes it ideal
for the HDD market.
"The pump runs incredibly smoothly due to
the rigidity of the high-strength ductile iron frame.
Additionally, all bearings on the GD 250HDD
feature a pressurized lubrication system, so the
pump can tackle the biggest projects in the
industry," Huseman added.
The GD 250HDD brings a 160-year legacy of
expertise and innovation in improving pumping
technology for the industrial and petroleum
industries, to the HDD market.
"We have now taken this very robust, fieldproven technology and applied it to HDD pumps,"
said Brandon Janda, product manager, "introducing
a 100-percent, American-made, rugged, longerlasting industrial pump - helping customers reduce
downtime, extend consumable life and ultimately
tackle bigger, tougher projects in less time."
Weighing less than 4,000 pounds the GD
250HDD has a maximum flowrate of 460 gallons
per minute and the ability to reach pressures up to
3,000 pounds per square inch. This triplex pump
offers a 5-inch stroke, 50,000-pound rod load
rating and 250 breaking horsepower (BHP).
