DAN sAVAGE is the author of the syndicated column, “Savage Love,” and the Editorial Director of The Stranger, seattle’s weekly newspaper. Last fall, savage and his husband, terry Miller spearheaded the “It Gets better” campaign by downloading a video on Youtube after a rash of gay teen suicides: youths who took their own lives because of bullying. six months later, www.itgetsbetter.org has evolved into a nonprofit organization and a national movement, with over 10,000 videos and growing. the book IT GETS BETTER: Coming Out, Overcoming Bullying, and Creating a Life Worth Living, edited by Dan savage and terry Miller was released in March. In addition to his frequent appearances on cNN, MsNbc, Real time With bill Maher, and the colbert Report, savage is a regular contributor to public radio’s This American Life. he is the author of several books, recently attended a White house press conference on bullying and is currently working on a pilot with MtV. Molly shannon, whose debut children’s book Tilly the Trickster will be published in september 2011 by Abrams books for Young Readers, is one of the most recognizable female comedic actresses in entertainment through her work on television and in films. the Emmy-nominated actress is known for portraying exuberant characters and became famous for her roles on Saturday Night Live. Molly has appeared in numerous hit movies, including Superstar, Never Been Kissed, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and featured on top-rated television shows, including Glee in 2010, and 30 Rock, Scrubs, Seinfeld, Will & Grace, Sex and the City, and The New Adventures of Old Christine, among many others. her talents extend beyond comedy. Molly recently starred in the hit broadway show Promises, Promises and begins a new chapter as an author as the feisty, mischievous young heroine in Tilly the Trickster find her way to children, parents, and all of her fans.
