The ALA JobLIST Placement & Career Development Center will host a number of excellent workshops during the Midwinter Meeting in Boston. The Center will be open on Saturday and Sunday, January 9 and 10, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. There is no cost to attend the sessions. Registration is not required.

There are times — nearly every day — when you have to make a choice of whether to use good etiquette or possibly risk embarrassment. Good manners can mean the difference between success and failure in many aspects of life. This interactive presentation will equip you with essential skills to help you put your best foot forward and avoid making a faux pas. The session focuses on professional etiquette as it relates to dining, dress/appearance (for job interviews, receptions, etc.), behavior, and communication in the professional world. We will provide an extensive tutorial on etiquette skills needed when meeting potential employers, colleagues, or others in professional and social networking settings. Cost is complimentary. He has dressed some of the most distinguished and famous women in the world including Audrey Hepburn, Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Roberts, Rihanna, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Meryl Streep. His famous partnership with Target was the first time a major designer teamed up with the mass retailer, a revolutionary business deal that paved the way for numerous other designers. Beyond the fashion world, he has designed costumes and sets for Broadway and Off Broadway shows and opera, has directed “The Magic Flute” for the Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and narrated “Peter and the Wolf” at the Guggenheim Museum. A major retrospective of his work titled “An Unruly History” is scheduled to take place at the Jewish Museum of NYC in 2016.
