Electronic Impact Report 2017 - 7

Throughout the year, we continued to affirm
and fulfill our strategic plan, the Program of
Work 2020, and our vision, mission and the
four strategic initiatives that support it.
1: Innovation and Thought Leadership
2: Policy, Advocacy and Communication
3: Clinical Care Coordination and
     Quality Improvement
4: Resource Development

GOAL: Position primary care as fundamental to the
health care landscape in the U.S.
Coordinating a tactical approach to today's new challenges
is essential.  In the first quarter of this fiscal year HCP
provided input at both the annual invitation-only NACHC
winter strategy planning session, and the Hospital
Association of Southern California's Medicaid strategy
meetings.

INNOVATION & THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Throughout the year, Health Center Partners (HCP)
participated in policy-shaping and influential
conferences and meetings on primary care and related
issues - along with taking on key leadership roles in such
events.

Early in the second quarter, we participated in the first joint
Regional Area Consortium (RAC), and Consortia Policy Group
(CPG) meeting, which included discussions to better plan and
integrate policy, advocacy and communication activities, and a
special two-day board meeting of the Desert Health Care
District on their new strategic priorities.

A primary example is the National Association of
Community Health Centers (NACHC) Primary Care
Association/Health Center Controlled Networks
(PCA/HCCN) National Conference in Pasadena in
November 2016. HCP leadership welcomed the
attendees, who came from around the country at a
crucial point in our industry's viability. We also
addressed, presented, launched and exhibited programs,
and sponsored portions of the event, which helped set
the stage for future efforts on behalf of primary care.

Strategic Collaborations
We deepened existing relationships by participating in regular
conference calls with state and national associations,
and hosting monthly breakfasts for member CEOs on up-tothe-minute policy and advocacy advances.
Throughout the year, we supported our members' new site
openings, including Mountain Health's Santee practice site
opening and Southern Indian Health Council's (SIHC) opening
of the first Boys and Girls Club on native soil.  The leadership
teams of HCP and SIHC met onsite for thorough orientations
to each organization to ensure optimization of member
benefits.
