inspiration
Inspiration is all around us. People take

inspiration from many different things-a beautiful
painting or architecture, the power of the ocean,
or the amazing life within its depth. My true
inspiration comes from my daughters who, at ages
18 and 16, have already achieved things that I wasn't
even thinking about at their ages. The pressure for
these kids growing up today to not only do well, but
also to exceed in everything they do is immense.
I wonder if they will be able to understand the joy
of sitting on the beach and reading a book without
texting anyone!
So this is my theme for 2014: Take some time
to be inspired. Whatever it is that brings you joy and gets the creative juices
flowing, do it. I am lucky enough to have a few new team members who have
brought in fresh ideas and a renewed energy that has us all excited for a great
year ahead. Thank you and welcome Jana Roesch, Keeli Scott, and Lee Wright.
So what are we working on to get you inspired at our events this year? Well
the HD Expo show floor is almost sold out and our exhibitors are working hard
to create beautiful spaces to showcase their innovative products that will blow
you away. We are adding directional carpets to better guide you throughout
the show. Our conference lineup is second to none, and I can't wait to hear
the keynote conversation with the one and only Michael Bedner. Be sure to

Our Social Hub at HD Expo was such a success last year that we are doing
it again! This year it will be designed by Morgans Hotel Group and having
seen the initial concept, I can assure you it will be beautiful. The inspiration
reflects the design for the new Delano at Mandalay Bay, and it will be home to
our Green Conversations, intimate talks with various hotel owners and brand
executives, Hospitality Design magazine's booth, as well as a full bar and a
wonderful space to relax.
