But coming out of the recession, a robust renovation cycle and new growth opportunities are making it a developer's delight-from the opening of the Andaz Maui at Wailea to the redo of the Four Seasons properties in Lana'i and multiple hotels and restaurants in Waikiki. "Hawaii thrives when Asia spends on travel, and Asia spend is coming back," explains Bruce Ford, senior vice president of Lodging Econometrics.
