Common areas include a verdant winter garden appointed in lacy wrought iron and a lounge stacked with used books. The bright breakfast room features simple wooden chairs and white tables offset by a marble bar done in pink and white, and a banquette backed in the spectrum of colors that appear throughout the property. "I decorated the hotel by looking to the charm of former days and by mixing styles and periods that I like," Scoffier says.
