The Children's Specialty Center organizes all of Baystate's 15 pediatric specialties under one roof. The project centered on Baystate's concept of ImagiCare, an aspiration to provide positive and memorable healthcare visits for families and patients through fun, interactive experiences that alleviate anxiety. The waiting room, known as the "Playtrium," is adorned by the canopy of the color-changing "PlayTree" and is full of entertaining activities, including an interactive fish pond. Patients travel the "Path to Wellness" to get to their clinical "neighborhood," while a sculptural cloud above alternates colors. Neighborhoods are defined by a color range, reiterated at each exam room with an identifying hue wrapping from the corridor into each room. Supplement to Healthcare Designt 107
