patients. Educational resources for family care and welcoming waiting spaces with views to the outside will actively engage families with patient care and recovery. The design for the new towers employs some of the same materials as the Phase 1 Shands Cancer Hospital while adding some richness to the palette of materials. Through use of new, more contemporary forms, the Phase 2 Cardiovascular and Neuroscience Towers offer their own signature and personality to the campus. A pedestrian bridge connects the existing hospital to the new tower at the second level and frames an inviting gateway to the campus.
