MedMaster™ M4SEDIC featuring IndigoClean™ provides both ambient illumination
for the surgical team and safe, continuous
disinfection via 405nm Indigo light. It can be
switched between white disinfection mode and
Indigo disinfection mode, to balance visual
acuity, comfort and maximum bacteria killing
power. MedMaster™ M4SEDIC is effective
against bacteria in the air and on both hard
and soft surfaces, including cotton fabric, bed
linens, curtains, stainless steel, glass, acrylics
and PVC.
M4SEDIC comes in two configurations:
White disinfection mode: Best suited for times
when comfort and visual acuity are critical.
Combines Indigo (405nm) and standard white
LEDs to create the look of white overhead
lighting. Use when room is occupied.
Indigo Disinfection Mode: When the room
is not in use, switch to Indigo Disinfection
Mode for maximum bacteria killing power
(exclusively 405nm). Safe to use when room is
occupied or unoccupied.
Researchers at the University of Strathclyde
in Glasgow, Scotland, first documented the
bacteria-killing effects of 405nm, HighIntensity Narrow Spectrum (HINS) light in
2002. In 2015, the University selected Kenall as
the exclusive licensee to commercialize HINS
in North America. The Medical College of
Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee
recently documented a 70 percent reduction
in bioburden in Froedtert's Gastroenterology
(GI) Clinic's waiting room. Similar evaluations
in patient rooms are underway at the United
Hospital System in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
