TO ASHEVILLE, N.C.
HEALTHCARE DESIGN magazine's

exclusive event for healthcare design
leaders, Healthcare Design Forum,
will take place Sept. 4-6, in Asheville,
N.C. This unique invitation-only

Health Foundation
and AdventHealth
celebrated the opening
of the CENTER FOR
HEALTH & WELLBEING

in Winter Park, Fla. The
80,000-square-foot
facility consolidates
nutrition, fitness, medical
services, and educational
opportunities under
one roof, including
15,000 square feet of
AdventHealth medical
practices, an outpatient
lab, and retail pharmacy.

new 150,000-squarefoot children's hospital
in Pensacola, Fla., has
completed construction.
The $85 million facility
includes a pediatric
emergency department,
72-bed NICU, pediatric
imaging department,
pharmacy, inpatient
rehabilitation gym,
outpatient lab services,
child life playrooms, a
new family-friendly dining
venue, and med/surg
and observation beds.
HKS was the architect
and Hoar Construction
served as general
contractor.

Cherokee Indian
Hospital Authority broke
ground on a new crisis
stabilization unit as part
of its multiunit behavioral
health treatment
and rehabilitation
program located on the
CHEROKEE INDIAN
HOSPITAL campus in
Cherokee, N.C. The
two-story addition is
slated for completion is
summer 2020 and will
total 80,000 square feet.
The project team includes
Robins & Morton as
general contractor and
McMillian Pazdan Smith
as architect.

The U.S. DEPARTMENT
NCH Healthcare System
finished renovation
work on its critical care
unit at NCH BAKER
HOSPITAL in Fort
Myers, Fla. Designed
by Studio+, the more
than 18,600-square-foot
space accommodates 22
new critical care beds,
oversized patient rooms
with a family zone to
accommodate overnight
stays, and a family center.

OF VETERANS AFFAIRS

selected US Federal
Properties Co. to develop
four new outpatient health
clinics in Chattanooga,
Tenn.; Phoenix; San
Antonio; and Lubbock,
Texas. Designed by
Hoefer Wysocki, the new
facilities will account
for more than 733,563
square feet, with
construction expected to
begin this summer.

NexCore Group
broke ground on the
new CHI HEALTH
CLINIC MILLARD in
Omaha, Neb. The new
38,700-square-foot
facility will double the
size of the existing
clinic on the site and
provide a variety of
healthcare services,
including primary care,
OB/GYN, specialty
care, behavioral health,
imaging, lab, and
physical rehabilitation.
The project is expected
to open in summer
2020.

Penn Medicine,
University of
Pennsylvania Health
System, topped out its
multispecialty outpatient
facility in Radnor,
Pa. The four-story,
250,000-square-foot
PENN MEDICINE AT
RADNOR and adjacent
994-car parking garage
are expected to open
in spring 2020 and are
targeting LEED Silver
certification. Ballinger
is the architect on the
project.
