Helix™ was designed with the user
fundamentally in mind in order to create
a dynamic active seating experience
that supports the forward-oriented
postures often seen in lab and healthcare
environments. The Frameless Back™
combines unique performance elements of
the free-floating i+™ Polyurethane back, an
advanced elastomer upright, and a fiberglass
spring to create a self-adapting and fluid
seating motion. The back moves and
twists with the user, providing continuous
comfortable support.
The i+™ Polyurethane design improves
cleanability and inherently reduces opportunities for contaminants to accumulate
on the chair. The integrated performance of
the Helix™ chair provides a dynamic seating
experience without the need for typical
chair controls. The only control required is
a simple seat height adjustment. Reducing
a caregiver's interaction with ergonomic
adjustments improves infection control.
The improved comfort of the Helix™,
along with its simplicity, allows caregivers to
focus on their patients with fewer distractions from their seating, increasing productivity. The polyurethane material flexes
to give a comfortable perch, and naturally
grips to clothing and provides a secure sit by
preventing users from slipping.
The natural curves and subtle design
details of Helix™ help contribute to an
organic and calming aesthetic appreciated
by patients and caregivers. Its unique color
accents can help brighten the space and
provide an optimistic energy.

* This entry encompasses performance, ergonomics, cleanability, and aesthetics for applications that typically don't
consider aesthetics, such as lab seating. Its ability to adjust with dynamic movement for a variety of users, without
touching controls (except for height), is appealing.
* Creating this chair to make supportive fluid motion possible such that the time sitting is also a dynamic recharge
provides a great augmentation to the attention that is given to clinical planning and operations that reduce
caregiver fatigue.
* This is a much-needed product I have been looking for a long time. A laboratory chair that is extremely functional,
easy to clean and with a pleasing aesthetic. The intuitive nature of this chair makes it innovative and much needed
in this hands-free work environment.
* I love that this chair is highly functional for all body types and ways of sitting but is also beautiful as an object.

FireSlide™ surface-mounted, top-hung
sliding doors offer a clean, modern aesthetic
while achieving a 45-minute UL 10B fire
rating. Fire-rated wood sliding doors can
help control and contain flames and smoke
for up to 45 minutes. In the event of a fire,
they work together with surrounding firerated materials to provide patients, visitors
and medical staff with more time to safely
exit the building.
AD Systems also had the goal of fusing
fire-rated functionality with space-savings
and sound attenuation. By eliminating a
door's swing path, the surface-mounted,
top-hung single-leaf doors save up to
30 additional square feet in patient
rooms or other locations where space
is at a premium. The fire-rated doors
also come with acoustic seals on three
sides, closing the perimeter gaps that can
commonly challenge sliding door acoustic
performance. Soft-close dampening
systems further help decrease overall noise
transfer, supporting confidential doctorpatient conversations.
FireSlideTM standard hardware is selflatching with options for thumb-turn privacy
locks that don't require pinching, twisting
or grasping. Other available options include
access control by key lock or electric strike.
Self-closers are standard equipment to
achieve code compliance.

JURY COMMENTS:
* Flexibility and efficiency of a sliding door with
fire code requirements and latching to meet the
institutional codes along with ADA laws. Like that it
is a single sourced solution with door, hardware and
sound attenuation all in one.
* Since sliding doors have become an integral part
of efficient and functional clinical planning, being
able to broaden their utilization into areas where
fire and life safety features are a factor is a very real
bonus.
* Space is at such a premium on many healthcare
projects. Sliding doors are often a helpful solution
for efficient use of space. Having a fire-rated option
allows the use of sliding doors in more places.
