PARTS LIST CONSTRUCTIO STEPS 1. Remove binding from Komfor! Kooshions. 2. Cut in half. 3. Remove foam backing from seat and cushion back. Save both. 4. Cut seat in half and around the curved shapes to form the shoulder straps of the armor. 5. Armor attaches to a belt with straps. 6. Mark Velcro placement on the belt and cushion. At this point, the cushion should have been fit to the size of the actor. 7. Cut the cushion back to size, and cut the original foanl backing to the same size. 8. Cut 1/4" fabric backed foam to the foam backing size. 9. Spray adhesive these together. 10. Bevel the edges of the wrong side of both cushion back pieces. 11. Paint: a) Straps and seat cushion with a base coat of purple. (Textile paint) b) Once purple is dry, paint straps and seat cushion black. Leave some purple exposed. c) When black is dry, highlight domes of cushion texture with silver. 12. Bind seat cushion and foam backing with silver duct tape. Zig-zag stitch tape on both pieces. 13. Add elcro as marked in fitting. (For armor that needs an inner pocket, stitch Velcro to seat cushion and foam backing at right or left side.) 14. Stitch seat cushion and foam backing together at outer perimeter. 15. Stitch Velcro to 2" grosgrain ribbon (shoulder strap) at edge for extra support. 16. a) Pin ribbon with Velcro onto wrong side of strap. b) Stitch ribbon on by stitching around dome shapes with zipper foot, from front of strap. 17. Line up luggage shoulder strap guards (tabs) with bottom of breastplate. Mark breastplate for grommets and tabs for holes. 18. Add grommets to breastplate. 19. Punch holes in tabs. (For armor with mud flaps, align them at the same time as tabs; mark and punch holes.) 20. Connect tabs (and mud flaps) \\~th cable ties. Leave ties loose, especially for armor with mud flaps. The cable ties serve as hinges. 21. Add Velcro to front of flap at bottom edge (for armor with mud flaps). 22. Flip up mud flaps and mark Velcro placement on breastplate. 23. Use black car floor mat for armor with rank insignia. (This is the armor \\~th built-in pocket.) Line this up as desired. Mark for Velcro placement at outer edges of mat and on breastplate. 24. Stitch on Velcro. 25. Add "insignia" to floor mat. In tlus case, it was plastic grass trimmer blades covered with duct tape and painted with acrylics. 26. Line blades up on mat. Mark placement. Drill holes in blades and mat. Stitch blades to mat. Sectioned pipe insulation foanl covered \~th duct tape on surface. Stitch to mat. Chains made from black cable ties. Spray ties with gray paint.
