D D II G G II T TA A LL PORTFOLIO PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES by Rafael Jaen The homepage of Kristina Tollefson's Web site serves as the main menu for the remainder of the site and as an introduction to those viewers who may not know her credentials. The stylistic elements create a feeling of sophistication and professionalism which are then carried through on subsequent pages. C omputers and the Internet are effective resources that allow designers and technicians to share their expertise, communicate ideas faster, and seek out new career opportunities. CDs and Web pages can be used to augment traditional portfolios. In order to create an effective digital showcase, designers and technicians need to be aware of the available software, display venues, and marketing possibilities. The Portfolio Menu page gives viewers instant access to any show in Kristina's on-line portfolio. The thumbnail collages of renderings and production shots allows viewers to better choose which shows are of interest to them. The regular arrangement of the shows is contrasted by the more organic groupings of images for each show to soften the linear nature of such lists. THEATRE F A L L 2006 DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY 29
