Befitting such a momentous occasion, "birthday parties" will be held every day during the 2010 USITT Conference & Stage Expo and birthday cards from members and friends around the world will be displayed. But the celebration isn't confined to the conference. The year leading up to the 2010 conference will be marked with five issues of TD&T, each representing a decade of USITT history, and parties are being planned throughout the United States at events held by Regional Sections and Student Chapters. "Honoring our Past and Securing our Future" is the official logo for the celebration but an alternate motto is gaining in popularity: "50 - It's Not That Old!" The fund-raising campaign with the intention of "Securing Our Future" is underway and all members will be asked to contribute $50 for the 50th in 2010. Information about ways to financially support USITT is available at usitt. org/membership/Development.html. And now for the big news: champagne corks will fly during the 2010 USITT Conference & Stage Expo to be held in... Kansas City, March 30 through April 3. Mark your calendars now and begin brushing up on the words to old favorites like "Everything's up to Date in Kansas City," "K.C. Lovin'" and the old blues tune, "(Going To) Kansas City." ❖ THEATRE SPRING 2007 DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY 85
