Leading Industry Analysts to Begin
Each Day at Intermodal EXPO 2015
Intermodal EXPO welcomes back William A. "Bill" Strauss, senior economist
at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, who will moderate the two general
sessions opening each day of EXPO 2015.
Strauss was the keynote speaker on the second day of Intermodal EXPO
2014, providing the Fed's perspective on the U.S. economy and its recovery
since the Great Recession. He will introduce and facilitate sessions at EXPO
2015 that will feature leading analysts and economists who will be sharing
perspectives that will benefit all industry stakeholders.

FreightCast - Where Is Intermodal Headed in 2015 and
Beyond?
Monday, Sept. 21, will open with an in-depth review of intermodal's recent
performance and its prospects. Specific topics that will be covered include
service issues, truck capacity and port congestion. Joining Strauss are:

Idaho Exempts
Owner-Operators
Idaho is the latest state to enact legislation related to the status of owneroperator truck drivers. Gov. Butch Otter
signed into law on March 30 a bill, H.B.
143, that provides exemption under
the Idaho Employment Security Law of
owner-operators in the trucking industry, effective July 1.
Meanwhile, bills addressing proper
classification of truck drivers and/or
related issues, such as unemployment
compensation law exemption, are
being mulled in numerous states, with
Massachusetts, New York and North
Carolina the latest to see such bills
introduced. Such states and measures
