Changes Proposed to IANA Bylaws At its September meeting, the IANA Board of Directors considered potential amendments to the Association's bylaws. The suggested change impacts the definition of the vote needed to modify the Uniform Intermodal Interchange and Facilities Access Agreement under Section 2.7 of the bylaws and is shown in bold below: "During any meeting of the committees in Section 2 of this Article at which a quorum is present, an affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of those members attending shall suffice to take any action or transact any business thereat, except that, with respect to the Intermodal Interchange Executive Committee, the rules as set forth in the Uniform Intermodal Interchange and Facilities Access Agreement will govern. Committee voting is limited to one vote per Association member." In addition to the above proposed revision, the Board decided not to eliminate the use of Alternates on the IIEC. Among them was Silver Kingpin Award recipient Jim Hertwig, president and CEO of Florida East Coast Railway, who in his acknowledgements demonstrated his confidence in the future by saying that his college-age son would also be "getting into the business."
