Jean-Jacques Ruest was named interim CEO at Canadian National Railway,
where he previously was chief marketing officer. His experience includes more
than two decades at CN, with eight years in the top marketing post.
"The board believes the company needs a leader who will energize the team,
realize CN's corporate vision and take the company forward with the speed and
determination CN is known for," said board Chairman Robert Pace.
Ruest replaces Luc Jobin, who has left the company.
Robert Biesterfeld was promoted to the chief operating officer position
at C.H. Robinson. In that position, he will continue to serve as president of
Robinson's North American Surface Transport, while adding responsibility for
other divisions, including Global Forwarding, Robinson Fresh, Europe Surface
Transportation and Managed Services.
"Bob is a highly effective leader with deep knowledge of our industry and a
proven track record of delivering results," said CEO John Wiehoff.
Pervinder Johar was named CEO at REZ-1. He joined REZ-1 from
EdgeVerve, where he had been CEO of the Infosys subsidiary. Previously, he
was CEO of Steelwedge Software Inc. and vice president of global supply chain
solutions at HP.
"Pervinder's impressive resume and leadership in the supply chain
technology space position him to be a strong addition to REZ-1's senior
leadership team," said Bill Shea, CEO of REZ-1's parent company Direct
ChassisLink Inc.
Also at DCLI, David Arsenault joined the company as chief strategy officer.
He had been CEO of Hyundai Merchant Marine America for 12 years.
Jack Buffington, who is responsible for warehousing and brewery fulfillment
for MillerCoors, has been named a joint faculty member in supply chain shared
between the University of Denver's Transportation Institute and the Daniels
College of Business.
Crowley Logistics appointed Shiju Zacharia as senior director of
transportation, Kara Bryant as director, intermodal services, and Greg Durr as
director of transportation as part of a reorganization of its inland transportation
group.
Jaxport has named David Kalata as director, national container accounts.
He was international sales manager at Florida East Coast Railway prior to this
appointment.
Jeff Harris, vice president of maintenance at USA Truck, has been named
general chairman and treasurer of American Trucking Associations' Technology
& Maintenance Council for 2018-2019.
Port of Oakland Director of Social Responsibility Amy Tharpe received
an award named for the Powerful Women of the Bay Area, recognizing the
achievements of those whose work helps to enrich the lives of others.
