Silver Kingpin Award Ballots Due June 29
The voting period for the 2018 Silver Kingpin Award recipient
ends June 29. IANA voting members were sent ballots electronically on May 30. Members who need assistance with the process

The Silver Kingpin Award will be presented Monday, September 17 during Intermodal EXPO 2018 in Long Beach, California.

Georgia Southern University
Wins IANA Case Competition at UNF
The 10th Annual IANA Case Competition, April 5-8, brought
together students in leading supply chain, logistics and transportation programs to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world intermodal problems. This year's intermodal challenge tasked teams
with setting line haul rates, playing the role of internal consultants
of a fictional regional railroad.
The first place winners hailed from Georgia Southern University. Other participating IANA Scholarship Award Program schools in
the competition included the University of Maryland, University of
North Florida and University of North Texas, which placed second.
The University of Maryland earned an honorable mention.

The University of North Florida once again was the event host.
The competition was made possible through IANA's Scholarship
Award Program. Since 2006 the fund has provided more than $2
million to support students in university programs focused on
intermodal freight transportation.

IANA Scholarship Spotlight
Located in Jacksonville, "America's Logistics Center,"
University of North Florida's Transportation and Logistics
Flagship Program was the second undergraduate institution to
receive an IANA Scholarship Award.
Transportation and Logistics at UNF was established as
an undergraduate degree program in 1972 when the university
opened its doors. Currently there are 278 undergraduate students
majoring in Transportation and Logistics.

In the words of one student to IANA, "Knowing that I have the
support of industry professionals like yourself reaffirms my own
desire to become a fellow transportation professional and give
back to others wanting to follow our paths."

Chassis Mechanics Inspection and Repair
Guide Available This Summer

In 2006, the Transportation and Logistics Program, as well
as the International Business Program, were designated UNF
Flagship Programs, recognizing their excellence in teaching
and research. UNF now boasts the only Logistics Information
Technology Solutions Lab in the Southeast, with software
donations to the program valued at $1.3 million.
As an IANA Scholarship Award recipient, UNF has been
able to broaden the resources and opportunities available to
students, including the intermodal case competition, case
study development and monetary scholarships, reinforcing the
