nombreuses stratégies durables :
une réduction de 40 pour cent
de l'utilisation d'eau potable
et des postes de recharge de
véhicules électriques.

Les clients qui disent « non »
Même dans une San Francisco favorable à l'environnement, les designers
rencontrent une certaine résistance. « Nous n'employons assurément pas
la manière forte en matière d'écologie », explique Jennifer Jones, designer
principale de Niche Interiors. « Nous mesurons plutôt l'intérêt du client à cet
égard en lui demandant d'évaluer l'importance d'un design respectueux de
l'environnement dès le début d'un projet. Même si ce n'est pas une priorité
pour eux, nous pouvons toujours spécifier du rembourrage exempt de produits
ignifuges ou du bois récolté de façon durable et faire appel en priorité à des
fournisseurs locaux afin de réduire notre empreinte carbone. La plupart
des gestes que nous posons ont lieu "dans les coulisses", comme faire des
choix éclairés à la fois pour la santé des clients et pour la conservation
des ressources. »
