BRIDGE
Jawad Y. Siddiqui is an Associate Professor
in the Institute of Radio Physics and
Electronics, University of Calcutta, India. He
received his Doctor of Philosophy degree
in Radio Physics and Electronics from the
University of Calcutta in 2005. He worked
as a postdoctoral fellow at the Royal Military
College of Canada and visiting researcher
at Queen's University, Canada, at different
times during 2008-2021. He has more than 150 publications in
peer-reviewed journals and conferences. His research areas include
printed circuits and antennas, radar, and nanophotonics. He is a coprincipal
investigator on Stratosphere-Troposphere (ST) Radar Project
at the University of Calcutta. He is a senior member of the IEEE
and served as chair for the AP-S and MTT-S Jt. chapters in the IEEE
Kolkata Section and the SIGHT Chapter in the IEEE Kolkata Section.
He is the Region 10 Coordinator (CAC) of the IEEE Antennas and
Propagation Society. He is currently the IEEE AP-S SIGHT Chair and
a member of IEEE Humanitarian Technology Board. He is also a
member of the MTT-S Meetings and Symposia Committee. He is the
recipient of the 2022 IETE S.N. Mitra Award.
Ajay Poddar is an IEEE Fellow. He
graduated with a degree in electronics
& communication engineering from the
National Institute of Technology, Calicut,
India; a Master of Technology degree from
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India;
Doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) from Technical University
of Berlin, Germany; Post-Doctorate (Dr.-Ing.
habil) from Brandenburg Technical University, Cottbus, Germany. He
has received over a dozen awards for scientific and technological
innovations and meritorious services; over three dozen patents;
published 300+ scientific papers in journals and conferences;
and co-authored four technical books or chapters. Previously, he
worked as a senior scientist in DRDO and as a visiting professor
at the University of Pune, India. Presently, he is working as a Chief
Scientist at Synergy Microwave, NJ, USA, responsible for design
and development of signal generation and processing electronics,
optoelectronics, RF-MEMS, and metamaterial-electronics for industry,
medical, and space applications. He is also serving as a visiting
professor at the University of Oradea, Romania; Indian Institute
of Technology, Jammu, India; and guest lecturer at the Technical
University Munich, Germany.
Prof. Dr. Ing.-habil Ulrich L. Rohde is
an IEEE Life Fellow, Partner of Rohde &
Schwarz, Munich, Germany; Chairman of
Synergy Microwave Corp., NJ, USA; serving
as an honorary member of the Senate
of Armed-Forces University Munich; and
honorary member of the Senate of the
Brandenburg University of Technology
Cottbus-Senftenberg, Germany. Dr. Rohde is
currently serving as a professor at several universities, to name a few:
Honorary Professor IIT-Delhi, Honorary Chair-Professor IIT-Jammu,
Professor University of Oradea, Romania, Honorary Professor,
BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg University of Technology, Germany, and
Professor, German Armed-Forces University-Munich, Germany. Dr.
Rohde has published over 300 papers, co-authored over a dozen
books, over 50 patents and received several awards, to name a few:
recipient of 2020 IEEE Region 1 Technological Innovation Award.
2019 IETE Fellow Award, 2019 IEEE CAS Industrial-Pioneer Award,
2017 RCA Lifetime Achievement Award, 2017 IEEE Cady Award,
2017 IEEE-AP-S Distinguished Achievement Award, 2016 IEEE
