recognition, an analytic technique is required to assess
whether or not the data collected regarding an object are relevant and if the results can be reported in a timely manner.
Although these examples seem dissimilar, a system that integrates a set of analytics within a DES architecture can
address both.
What is common to these examples is the requirement
to derive a probability-e.g., the probability of success
Ps -that takes into account specific objects (or targets)
and techniques to identify and respond to them. However,
in most cases, the probabilistic methods for calculating Ps
do not consider multiple techniques applied simultaneously to diverse objects. This leaves a critical gap and creates
an opportunity for new and more comprehensive methods
to provide analytic assessments for mission-decision support. These gaps may be filled through testing and simulation. Simulation is generally less expensive than direct

systems testing. But, for complex missions spanning large
operating environments, both systems testing and simulations can be expensive with respect to processing and execution time. Furthermore, they are not adaptable to
changes in the plan before or during the mission. To overcome some of these deficiencies, the AMADS provides an
adaptable method with which to determine Ps for object/
technique matches applied to a complex set of time-based
events for courses of action taken within multiple, simultaneous mission areas.

applied to a discrete-event dynamic system, generates
