his article provides a summary of the operation
and activities of the IEEE Systems, Man and
Cybernetics Society (SMCS) Technical Committee on Quantum Cybernetics (TC-qCyber)
since its inception on 30 March 2017.
Mission and Vision
Quantum technology is one of the most promising future
technologies. Quantum cybernetics provides the framework for a fundamental and interdisciplinary investigation
on the role of quantum effects in regulating quantum and
classical systems and developing new quantum technologies. The aim of the TC-qCyber is to build a community of
experts in the area of quantum cybernetics who are

excellent scholars in academic organizations and industrial companies. We have attracted 47 members to join the
TC-qCyber. This community will be devoted to the development of more progressive, efficient, and practical methods with expected impact on quantum technologies and
their applications. The purpose of the TC-qCyber can be
divided into three parts.
1) Scientific: The TC-qCyber and its activities are focused
on basic research on the emerging field of quantum cybernetics.
2) Technological: The TC-qCyber supports the transfer of
discovered know-how in the area of quantum cybernetics to possible practical applications.
3) Educational: The TC-qCyber supports young scient i s t s in the field of qua ntum cyber netics and the
dissemination of discovered know-how among the
scientific community.
