The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon has faculty (both research
and tenure track) openings. Exceptional candidates
in all areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering will
be given serious consideration, but especially those
that broaden the department in emerging areas or that
strengthen existing areas.
The College of Engineering and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering are both ranked among
the top ten programs in the United States both at the undergraduate and graduate level. The faculty have strong
ties with many multidisciplinary centers and institutes
such as the Institute for Complex Engineered Systems
(graduated NSF ERC), Software Engineering Institute,
Human Computer Interaction Institute, The Robotics
Institute, and the Information Networking Institute. The
department is home to several multidisciplinary centers
and laboratories such as the Data Storage Systems
Center (Graduated NSF ERC), Center for Silicon System Implementation, Microelectromechanical Systems
Laboratory, Distributed Robotics Laboratory, the Parallel Data Laboratory, and the Computer Architecture Lab
at Carnegie Mellon. Faculty in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering also have ties and collaborations with colleagues around the world through a
number of formal research and educational programs.

Department of Electrical Engineering, Northern
Illinois University invites applications for a fulltime tenure track Assistant Professor position in
the area of computer engineering. The department's
ABET accredited program currently has approximately 300 undergraduate and 70 master students.
NIU is located approximately 60 miles west of Chicago and anchors the western end of the East-West
Research and Development Corridor.
Requirement: Must have a B.S. in electrical or
computer engineering, earned Ph.D. in electrical or
computer engineering by the time of appointment; a
strong interest in teaching at the undergraduate and
graduate levels; have the ability to develop a funded
research program and willingness to interact with
local industry. Teaching responsibilities will include
delivery of the department's required courses, as
well as elective courses in the specific area.
