postgraduate level in Hungary and
USA and is undertaking a PhLic and
PhD at Department of Computer
and Systems Sciences (DSV), Stockholm University. Paul is Chair, SSIT
U.K. and Ireland Chapter; Chapter
Coordinator, U.K. and Ireland Section; former MPI board director
(2008-2011); and member of EU -
AUC Living labs Taskforce for Africa.

Ayasuya Devi
Dr. H. K. Anasuya Devi is a Professor, Research Lead and Technical Advisor at National Design and
Research Forum, Bangalore. She
received her PhD degree from the
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore India, in 1985, Bachelors
and Masters Degrees from Bangalore University, in 1971 and 1973,
respectively. She possesses extensive research experience of about
28 years in inter-disciplinary areas
across diverse range of research
interests including Computational
Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence,

University of Maryland, College Park
(February 2010-June 2015). He
received the Ph.D. degree in Field
Robotics from the University of Sydney, and an ME (Research) degree
in Systems Engineering from the
Australian National University. Over
the last 20 years, he has contributed
to topics in field robotics, and systems and control theory. His current
research interests include unmanned
(aerial, ground) vehicle navigation
in unstructured environments, and
humanitarian robotics, particularly
the development of applied robotics and automation technologies systems that are cost effective, reliable,
efficient and geared towards improving the quality of lives of people in
under-served and under-developed
communities around the globe.
Dr. Madhavan has edited three
books and four journal special issues,
and has published over 170 papers
in archival journals, conferences,
and magazines. He has served as an
invited independent judge for robotics competitions, has given numerous invited presentations in research
organizations in several countries,
has served on editorial boards and
program committees of premier
robotics, automation, and control
conferences, and on several national
and international panels and review
boards. He has been serving as the
Vice President of the Industrial Activities Board (2013-2016), Chair of the
Standing Committee for Standards
Activities (2011-2016), and since
2012 as the Chair of the Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (SIGHT), all within the IEEE
Robotics and Automation Society.

since 1985. This includes teaching at graduate and post graduate
levels and for Senior Executives,
research projects at various Institutions/Universities in Hyderabad,
research work at Kolkata.
Along with research, teaching and
administrative experience of about
12½ years at National Institute of
Advanced Studies, IISc Campus, for
the past 15 years she has been teaching Regular Courses at Centre for Continuing Education -Proficience, Indian
Institution of Science. She worked
as a Professor and Research Lead in
Information Science Engineering and
Research Center in 2007 at Global
Institute Technology, affiliated to VTU,
Bangalore. She guided over 1200
students in their research projects.
She published over 298 papers in
various forms including International,
National journals, Conferences, Book
Chapters, Technical Reports, Project
Reports, Invited Lectures, Seminars
and Workshops. She also participated
in documentary films, delivered lectures and radio talks. She is a recipient of many awards and honors and
holds the chair of IEEE SSIT ES, Vice
President of IISc Alumni Association
and membership of eighteen professional bodies.

Raj Mandhavan
Raj Madhavan is a visiting research
scientist with the Institute for Systems
Research, and a member of the Maryland Robotics Center at the University
of Maryland, College Park. Currently
he is working on applying robotics
and automation technologies for the
benefit of humanity in a variety of
domains. He has held appointments
with Oak Ridge National Laboratory
(March 2001-January 2010), National
Institute of Standards and Technology (March 2002-June 2013), and
