AI for a Fair, Just, and Equitable World

of the SDGs, especially those that are most relevant
to equity, is crucial to avoiding such a disruptive
technology as A/IS having detrimental effects on
equity, a real and present danger given the current
techno-optimist Zeitgeist and the enormous power
of the ICT corporate sector.
We therefore call on researchers to join the effort
to build and strengthen the AI4Eq field by appealing
to universal ethics but also to the idea that a lack of
human rights in one region has global consequences,
thus resolving issues of gross inequality in the interest of all. A/IS has the potential to make a giant contribution to the " inescapable transformation " [29]
implied by the Agenda 2030, through multidisciplinary, multiactor AI4Eq collective action.

