Anvil Hosts Launch Party
at ISS Long Beach

| Rutland Holdings Co., Pineville, N.C., recently announced
the appointment of Jeff Leone
as its new president and CEO.
Leone has spent the majority
of his career in the chemical
industry working for BASF, and
the BASF joint-venture Basell,
in the coatings, plastics and
fibers businesses. Most
recently, he was the CEO of
building materials company
Trulite, with 31 locations and
2,000 employees across the
United States and Canada.
Leone received a bachelor's
degree in chemistry from
Carnegie-Mellon University.

Anvil recently hosted a launch party and fashion show to present its 2014 collection.
Anvil, New York, celebrated the launch of
its 2014 collection with a Beyond Basic cocktail party during the Imprinted Sportswear
Shows (ISS) event in Long Beach, Calf.
The company welcomed attendees to the
Liberty Gallery in the city's garment district
for an evening of music and fashion, including
a fashion show, DIY stations and sounds from
DJ Lindsay Luv.
During the fashion show portion of the
event, the company introduced its 2014 collection, which includes 15 new styles focused on
modern essentials, highlighting the latest trends.
"The industry is going lightweight," says
Mike Hoffman, president of Anvil's parent
company, Gildan Activewear SRL. "It's a trend
we're seeing across all categories and all cuts."
Focusing on lightweight styles, Anvil has
reorganized its entire line according to weight
- sheer (3.2 ounce), lightweight/baby rib (4.5
ounce), midweight (ring-spun 5.4 ounce) and
heavyweight (5.4 ounce). Lightweight highlights include tanks for men and women (styles
986/882L), and adult and women's long-sleeve
hooded tees (styles 987/887), all available in
ultra-soft 4.5-ounce ring-spun cotton.
"Womenswear, too, is seeing a shift toward
lighter weight styles," Hoffman says. "We're
also seeing more heathers and bright looks in
this category."

Additional women's collection highlights
include the lightweight junior fit long-sleeve
(style 374L) and V-neck tees (style 88VL).
The company also emphasized the growing
crew-neck sweat shirt and French terry categories, introducing three new 7-ounce French
terry pieces, including the women's mid-scoop
(style 72000L), as well as a hooded version
(style 72500L).
"There has been an overall increase in crewneck sweat shirts, but hoodies are still here -
they are still core," Hoffman explains. "Hoodies are still popular and very important to our
business."
As far as the "hot" colors for 2014, Hoffman
believes mint green will take center stage, and
safety pink also will be popular.
Long known for its functional, substantial
workwear, the 115-year-old Anvil has evolved
into a destination for contemporary styles
with broad appeal, according to the company.
The 2014 collection features styles designed
to make a bold statement and showcase wearers' sense of style. The looks are fresh, hip and
relevant, ranging from the trendy-yet-friendly
to classics with a fresh twist, according to the
