attributes of performance, including sustainability, cost effectiveness, safety, security,
productivity and overall functionality.This
system is cost-advantageous and, more
importantly, provides a safe and well-lit
work environment."
Cedarstream also bales and recycles its
cardboard, helping to reduce considerable
waste volume. During the winter months,
the company's low-intensity infrared tube
heaters decrease gas consumption by 50%
and can heat specific areas of the production facility to different temperatures.
As the years have passed and Cedarstream has grown, an increased demand
for its products has pushed the company to not only expand, but also operate under purposeful screen-printing
quality-control procedures in order to
ensure optimal customer service. The
company is diligent in its pre-production,
inspection and post-production routines,
with each multistep process being designed
to enhance the its sustainability blueprint
and customer-service track.
Hybrid Printing
Through an emphasis on new, sustainable
technology, Cedarstream has embraced an
increasingly popular way of printing.The
company invested in M&R's DS-4000

Digital Squeegee, a hybrid-printing system that combines classic screen-printing
methodologies with digital printing.
"The decision to invest in this technology was an easy one," Jamie Morris
says."We want to provide our clients with
the best designs and printed goods.The
Digital Squeegee is just one more tool
to help us achieve this goal. Each design
looks best with different printing techniques, and the Digital Squeegee allows
us to broaden our technique capabilities
and still offer finished goods in a timely
manner."
Implementing the Digital Squeegee
has doubled the company's efforts to reduce overall consumption while offering a
water-based and environmentally friendly
solution. Jamie Morris says Cedarstream
has mapped out a plan to incorporate
more Digital Squeegees into the business
after the first investment was seamlessly
successful.
The COVID Effect
Despite the company's evolution, 2020
brought an unexpected surprise. Like
most small businesses, Cedarstream felt
the COVID-19 pandemic's impact first
hand.With such an unpredictable curveball, the company had to position itself
for any unintended consequences.

"We braced for the impact, taking
the necessary precautions and used the
downtime to plan and strategize for our
future growth and rebound in the wake of
the global pandemic," Jamie Morris says.
Although operations have continued as
the nation still wrestles with COVID-19,
the team has modified its day-to-day routines to ensure social-distancing and safety
measures are followed. Team members
are provided with face masks and other
personal protective equipment (PPE) to
guarantee a safe work environment. Each
morning, each team member's temperature is checked to prevent any spread of
the coronavirus.
Despite the current pandemic and its
effects on businesses around the country, Jamie Morris is optimistic about the
company's trajectory for the rest of the
year and beyond.
"We strive to be the best in our industry and our investment in the newest
technology helps drive our team to remain excited about our finished goods
and customers," he says."We encourage
our team to be the best they can be in
each department and to own individual
jobs with passion and pride.This makes
for a cohesive work environment where
the values of teamwork prevail, and our
clients have the best experience possible.
"We are poised to have a successful third
and fourth quarter, and look forward to
being able to travel to the major trade
shows again to see clients and suppliers,"
he adds. "We are excited and eager to
continue our growth to serve more clients
with the best prints possible." 
