requirements, workload, etc., to ensure
a smooth setup. He also will talk to you
about the type of artwork you need and
about what software works best for your
situation and workload.
In addition, he'll discuss proper placement, support surfaces and the stand,
if applicable. The goal is making sure
everything will be in place and ready
with no surprises.
Once the installer is on-site, he will
ink up the machine and calibrate it. After
the machine has been calibrated, you'll
move on to subjects like garments and
pretreatment. This includes discussing
which types of fabrics work best for the
process, how pretreatment works, and
how to set it up and measure it.
The next step is focusing on artwork, print drivers or RIP software, and
learning how to set up sizing and dial in
adjustments for specific types of shirts.
When the graphics are done, you'll print
and cure the image.
Throughout the process, the trainer
will call your attention to mistakes and
show you how to diagnose problems.
You'll also see how to determine the
amount of ink used and calculate the
cost of a print. In addition, you'll learn
about machine care and daily, weekly
and monthly maintenance, as well as
things like how to ready it for long-term
storage. Combining training with installation has advantages. Different things
come up during the process that might
not otherwise.
An installation training session generally takes between three and six hours,
depending on how familiar those attending are with DTG. After setting up the
machine and software and running
through the pretreating, printing and
post-printing processing, the balance of
the time is spent going over various setups and scenarios.

also on your production intentions.
