Nike Partners with
Fashion House
Beaverton, Ore.-based Nike Inc. has
teamed up with Japanese fashion house
Sacai to reimagine Nike classics.
With the NikeLab x Sacai women's collection, designer Chitose Abe transforms
traditional male silhouettes into new styles
with a feminine modern edge, according
to the company. Two different weights of
Nike's Tech Fleece were used in the collection, which includes Nike's Windrunner
jacket reimagined as a skirt with pliss├ęstyle paneling.
"I've always been inspired by classics," Abe says. "Working with traditional
silhouettes and ideas that often come from
utility or performance-based sportswear,
I'm interested in creating new hybrids that
combine different fabrics and shapes to create an unexpected yet wearable result."
The eight-piece collection is scheduled
