Important tips for navigating the shows
With the highly anticipated opening of KBIS 2014 upon us, I have been
thinking about all of the exciting changes and enhancements you can
expect to see in Las Vegas. These include everything from top manufacturers returning to KBIS after several years away, to bellwether brands
announcing significant product launches and the continued evolution
of the NKBA learning program. This, of course, does not include all of the
special events, functions and overall WOW factor.
Over the last six months, we have tried to give you a roadmap of sorts
in our special section, "The KBIS Countdown to Design & Construction
Week." The section this month will continue to give you valuable insights
into everything KBIS. It is truly an insider's perspective into much of what
our event will have in store for you on the show site.
While so much of our focus in recent months has been on setting the stage for Design & Construction
Week, I wanted to offer you a few simple tips on navigating the show.
Transportation. There is FREE shuttle service to/from the convention center to any of our designated
show hotels beginning on February 4. This service will continue through the show. Cab service is also
available on the North and South ends of the convention center. While there is limited paid parking at
the center, we would strongly encourage you to use the complimentary shuttle service, cabs or the Las
Vegas Monorail.
Registration. Your KBIS badge will offer you show floor access to KBIS, IBS and Vision 2014. If you
registered by January 17, you should have received your show badge in the mail. All you will need to
do to enter the show is drop by any of the lanyard pick-up stations conveniently located in the North
Hall Lobby. If you registered after January 17, you will need to pick up your badge on the show site.
Please remember to bring your registration conformation with you just in case. You can also register
on the show site as well.
Navigating the Floor. With more than 1,500 exhibitors covering three buildings at the Las Vegas
Convention Center, there is a lot to see and do. To make it a pleasant experience, please be sure to
pick up a copy of the KBIS Show Directory or download the KBIS 2014 app for your smart phone or
tablet. Both will be invaluable tools for navigating the show.
NKBA Conference. NKBA Learning at KBIS applies to all segments of the industry and will be broken
into three distinct programs - Voices from the Industry, Featured Speakers and NKBA Courses. A full list
of conference sessions and locations is available online, in the directory and on the app. You can also
purchase conference sessions on the show site by visiting onsite registration in the North Hall Lobby.
We sincerely hope you enjoy your time in Las Vegas attending KBIS 2014. Much of this experience
has been built on your feedback in recent years, so please tell us how we are doing. Also, we will have
staff positioned throughout the convention center for the duration of the show, so let us know if there is
anything we can do to help.
