Jeffrey F. Taylor has been named global vice president
and general manager of innovation and research and
development for Formica Corporation. In his newly created role, he will be responsible for aligning technical
strategy with forward-thinking market initiatives to support
growth. Previously, Taylor was director of innovation and
product development at Valspar Corporation.
Eighteen months after the purchase of Armstrong Cabinets, cabinetry
manufacturer acpi announced the creation of Echelon Cabinetry and
Advanta Cabinets. More than $7 million has been invested in operational enhancements and process improvements focused on improving
overall service levels to customers. Building on six decades of industry
excellence to offer its customers new tools, better product value and more
professional customer support, acpi will meet an increasing demand in
a market currently challenged by supply and service issues through the
creation of their two new cabinetry lines: Echelon Cabinetry for home
builders, dealers and remodelers and Advanta Cabinets for multifamily
clients and architects.
Moen has partnered with Habitat for Humanity
to provide a new home for a family in Elyria, Ohio.
More than 100 of the company's employees are
planning to volunteer and dedicate 800+ manhours to the project. Ground broke on the house
in May, and the family of three will move in this
summer. Moen, along with a number of local Northeast Ohio businesses,
serves as a sponsor of the project, providing monetary support, volunteer
labor and product donations.
Coverings will take place at the Orange
County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., in
2015. The largest global tile and stone exposition in North America is anticipated to have its largest turnout since 2009, with an overall increase in
square footage and number of exhibitors. The 2015 show is projected to
have 23,000 attendees and 1,000 exhibitors across 400,000 net square
feet of exhibit space and will take place April 14-17. Coverings 2015 has
also revealed a new logo - a series of overlapping, colorful square frames.
Laticrete International has acquired HP Spartacote, a company that
produces a premium line of resinous ﬂoor coverings. The acquisition will
provide customers access to new products and technologies while expanding the company's presence in the restoration, decorative ﬂooring
and coatings category.
TOTO USA recently celebrated its 25th anniversary
by launching its newly renovated website - an online learning center - which offers improved usability
and resources.The clean, modern redesign provides
consumers and building industry professionals with
an interactive channel to learn about the company
and its offerings through streamlined site navigation.
The site can automatically adapt to any screen size,
making it easy to view from smartphones and tablets.
Coyote Outdoor Living has expanded its network of distributors to include
Doolittle Distributing in the Midwest and LUXSA, which brings imported
brands to Mexico. Both companies will carry Coyote's full line of products,
including its newest Grill-in-a-Box designed for smaller spaces and its two
most popular grills - the CSL Grill with LED backlit knobs and the Coyote
Centaur Hybrid Grill.
Jacuzzi Luxury Bath has launched an improved
website that provides a clear focus on product
design and bathroom applications. The product
selection process was the basis for the usability
design, allowing visitors to search by the installation type, shape, collection or experience desired.
A Build and See tool allows visitors to narrow down the product selection
process by choosing the desired bath conﬁgurations, viewing the chosen
bathtub in a setting and printing out the resulting product code.
Sherwin-Williams was honored with the Platinum
Supplier of the Year award from CertaPro Painters for the eighth time. The award recognizes
best-in-class overall service and consistent billing
and pricing. The company has also launched an
Online Learning Center to provide continuing

Aquatic is expanding its operations at its Elizabethtown, Pa., plant to provide better service for
its customers as the housing marketing continues
to pick up strength. The 108,000 sq.-ft. plant has
resumed production of Aquatic's full line of DuraCore gelcoat showers, tubs and tub-showers. The
plant also is now assembling the company's entire Freedomline offering,
which consists of accessible products.
