KBIS 2015 Just Keeps
Getting Bigger

Also taking place in the South Hall at KBIS 2015:
} An "Amazing Race"-style Twitter scavenger hunt called #KBISRace.
Attendees will be given a set of clues - planted in the South Hall - that
lead them to the sponsor's booth to win prizes.

KBIS NeXT to host a variety of
innovative programs

} The KBISNeXT Tech Bar where subject matter experts can interact
with one another to discuss hot tech topics in the kitchen and bath
industry. Charging stations will also be included.

} The VA Tech FutureHAUS Kitchen. This is a research prototype that
explores whole, prefabricated kitchens as plug-in components for
modular housing assembly lines. The process allows for a much
more sophisticated kitchen product since the "whole" kitchen can
be wired with interconnected, smart building technologies.

As you already know, registration for the Kitchen and Bath
Industry Show (KBIS) 2015 will allow access to a total of ﬁve shows:
KBIS, the International Builders' Show (IBS), the International Window
Coverings Expo (IWCE), the Winter 2015 Las Vegas Market and the The
International Surface Event (TISE). What you may not know is that an
additional 500,000 gross square feet of exhibition and programming
space has been added - branded KBISNeXT - to host the new
ICFF Pavilion and the KBISNeXT Tech Bar. KBISNeXT will offer thoughtprovoking, on-ﬂoor programming, as well as additional exhibit space.
As part of this program, the International Contemporary Furniture
Fair (ICFF) and KBIS will be presenting an ICFF Pavilion in the South
Hall, which will be connected to a special stage packed with inspired
programming and insightful presentations. The inclusion of the ICFF
Pavilion is attracting international brands to the show.

} The Innovative Showroom Awards will celebrate innovative,
educational and interactive showroom design focused on kitchens
and baths. Top existing showrooms will be chosen by judges before
KBIS opens via Facebook voting to determine the ﬁnal winners, which
will be announced on the ICFF Pavilion Stage during KBIS.
} A Best of KBIS product wall will be included in the South Hall as
well so attendees can view all of the products entered and visit the
brands in their booths to see the products live.

GE Appliances Returns to KBIS
After a three-year hiatus, the appliance giant, which was just
purchased by Electrolux for $3.3 billion, is again exhibiting at
KBIS 2015. K+BB chatted with GE Appliances' marketing and
experience design manager, Matthew Jones, in more detail.
K+BB: What is GE's impetus for exhibiting at KBIS next year?
MJ: We really want to partner with designers, build
relationships with them, get our product in front of them, let
them touch it, hear what it is they have to say, then take that
feedback back to our design and manufacturing teams. KBIS is
the right show for accomplishing that.
K+BB: What are some things GE is excited about regarding
next year's show?
MJ: We are showcasing some great product at KBIS and
want to hear feedback from the designers. This being year two
of Design & Construction Week, we are committed to both KBIS
and IBS, each of which showcase our products and our brand to
these two markets that are integrally tied together. It's important
that the attendee of each show visit each of our booths to see all
the value GE has to offer. There is nothing quite like show "biz.
"
The community aspect, the buzz, seeing all the new products
and services - it's inspiring. I always walk away having gleaned

some bit of info or some upcoming design trend that helps us
stay sharp and relevant.
K+BB: What products are you exhibiting, and what activities
will GE be hosting at the booth?
MJ: We will be featuring our Monogram product line in our
KBIS booth and the rest of our product lines in our IBS booth. We
will have chefs doing product demos in our booths and sharing
samples and some good laughs.
