team defied space, time and budget
SUPPLY NEW ENGLAND'S SECOND HIGH-END
KOHLER SIGNATURE STORE, located in Burlington, Mass., was designed to reflect the regional
style, feature as many working products as possible
and cover a wide range of price points in a nextgeneration showroom experience.
"When you design a showroom with a very polished approach, you don't want potential customers to feel intimidated or that all of the offerings
will be out of their budget,"said Sabrina DaLomba, director of showrooms for Supply New England. "We also train our staff to be friendly, open
and inclusive. We want to convey that we have
solutions for budgets from entry level to luxury.

include a white inset kitchen
with an apron-front sink
and bathroom suites that
include Carrara marble and
traditional fixtures.
Maximizing the space in a smaller location and
meeting the budget and schedule were the issues
with which the design team was dealing during
the showroom buildout.
So the space didn't feel cluttered or cramped,
Kohler's team mounted the kitchen sinks up the
wall in a modular structure instead of in the typical
horizontal fashion.They also built pullout storage
to display more shower doors and receptors.
"With careful, detailed planning, we used every
nook and cranny available,"said DaLomba."Also important was having revised CAD plans and elevations
for every ongoing change to keep everyone on track."
She attributes staying on schedule and budget to
having a solutions-oriented team working together, as well as having a complete set of meticulously
detailed plans before beginning active construction.
The KBB judges appreciated the variety of
products and vignettes and said the showroom
definitely maximizes the space while still feeling
open and light.
