MIXED MATERIALS, NATURAL ELEMENTS,relaxing bathrooms,multi-purpose
kitchens, design for multiple needs, using color as a focal point and sending the
message that being sustainable is the right thing to do - these are a few of our
favorite things about this year's winning projects.
KBB is honored to announce the winners of our 2018 Design Awards
competition! After poring through multiple submissions, our esteemed panel
of judges chose the best kitchen, bath and showroom projects in our industry.
Criteria included fulfilling client requirements, overcoming design challenges
and incorporating innovative thinking.
Our signature Kitchen, Bath and Showroom of the Year winners were
awarded in the mix, which also includes second places. We also gave awards
for Best Universal Design, Best Use of Color and Best Smart Design - with a
few honorable mentions in the Best Use of Color and Best Universal Design
specialty categories.

JUDGES
Kelsey Holtz is senior consultant of her company, Peeled Consulting, LLC in Aptos, Calif. She
focuses on toxin-free alternatives to create a healthspecific sanctuary for each client based on their
individual needs. She has degrees in interior design
and sustainable management, and advocacy for
these specialties in the field have led Holtz to leadership roles as the Sustainability Advocacy Chair
for the American Society of Interior Designers
- WI and on the U.S. Green Building Council's
(USGBC) Wisconsin Market Leadership Advisory Board. She was a National Kitchen & Bath
Association (NKBA) ThirtyUnder30 recipient at
the 2018 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show and has
received a Rising Star Award from the USGBC.

Dan McFadden is president of PB Kitchen
Design in the Chicago area. He feels that his
firm's expertise lies in its ability to truly connect
with each client, and he is a believer in building lasting collaborative relationships with trade
partners that share his standard for excellence,
value and reliability. McFadden's work has won
national awards and has been published in dozens
of trade and consumer titles. He and his team are
presenting sponsors of the Fox Valley Food for
Health Kitchen Walk, an event that raises funds
to provide nutrient-rich meals to its clients going
through serious illnesses. McFadden also serves as
the NKBA's Chicago Midwest Chapter's 20182019 president.

Chris Loughney is the co-founder and general contractor of Fitch Hill based in the quaint
Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix, Ariz. He
founded the firm alongside his wife, a published
designer of 15 years, with the goal of bringing
client-specific designs and quality construction
to each and every client.Together, they have been
able to establish a business model that allows their
clients to feel at ease with each step of the process
and has ultimately given them the ability to enjoy
the home they've always dreamed of. Loughney
is also a member of the Kitchen & Bath Business
Editorial Advisory Board.

Julie Schuster, CLIPP, is the owner of New
York City-based Julie Schuster Design Studio,
where the focus is on creating spaces that nurture
and support the people who live in them.The firm's
specialty is uniting both the physical and emotional
well-being of its clients'environment, and its holistic style does this collaboratively with every client
by taking the time to "coax" out the desires and
vision each of them has for the spaces they want to
live in. Schuster is a contributing writer, a member
of the Kitchen & Bath Business Editorial Advisory
Board and a brand ambassador for Robern Cabinetry. She is a nationally sought-after speaker on
the subjects of interior design, Feng Shui, universal
design and multigenerational design.
