FirstLight HomeCare stays
focused on client satisfaction
while doubling its franchise
network. BY JANICE HOPPE
FirstLight HomeCare truly represents what it means to be in the people business. The company lives by a
people-first philosophy that focuses
on creating personal connections and
taking the home care service quality
to the next level. "To the consumer especially, our focus is on quality and client satisfaction," President and CEO
Jeff Bevis says. "This really is a people
business and we are changing people's
lives. If that appeals to you then this
may be a franchise to consider."
The home care industry is one of
the fastest-growing industries in the
country, according to the International Franchise Association. More
than 10,000 people per day turn 65
in the United States and about 90
percent of them want to stay in their
homes. Non-medical in-home care is
an estimated $70 billion industry and
experts expect it to grow 40 percent
over the next four years. "We really
see the need for our type of service,"
Bevis says.
In late 2009, Bevis and his son
founded the Cincinnati-based company that specializes in non-medical,
in-home care and hourly care services
for seniors, people with disabilities,
new mothers and people recovering
from illness, injury or surgery. FirstLight sets itself apart in the industry
with its culture of care, supported by
a series of quality measurements that

enable it to provide a higher level of
care to clients and their families.
For example, ClientFirst is a unique
tool that helps FirstLight match caregivers to clients based on interests,
habits, and whether short- or longterm care is needed. "That correlates
to higher quality of care because there
is a stronger match between caregiver
and client," Bevis says.
With 14 years of in-home care experience, Bevis has assembled the most
tenured management team in the in-

dustry. The FirstLight management
team drew upon its years of experience to become the industry leader
in quality and service. "We literally
have the most experienced management team in both franchising and
home care," he attests. "We really
try to handpick our management and
leadership team to really set ourselves
apart and achieve a much higher rate
of growth, higher quality and greater
return for franchise owners than anyone else in the industry."
