Ralph described his "Canyon Spirits" as
"dancing forever in reverence to the natural beauty of our Laguna Canyon."
Ralph's signature sculptures are elongated female figures wearing sandals that
have become a recurring theme in his
work. "I wanted people to be able to become part of the sculpture," Ralph said.
"When they look at it, they can almost
get in the middle of it and start dancing
themselves."

"Beacon"
"Usher In"

"Beacon" and "Usher In" is a collaborative
installation by two local artists, glassblower
John Barber and bronze sculptor Louis
Longi. "Beacon" symbollically directs visitors
toward the city with a beacon of light while
"Usher In" reinforces the importance of visitors with two figures carrying them toward
the arts. "We wanted to have this woman
hold this big lamp that pointed down to
shed light on 'Usher In,' as well as to the
direction to the city," Louis said. "The glass
that I cast for this bench is a turquoise color
with currents underneath to show these
figures 'ushering in the water,'" John said.
